Binding Your Happymodel Mobula7 1S ELRS Drone to Radio Pocket Master

Binding Your Happymodel Mobula7 1S ELRS Drone to Radio Pocket Master

This article will guide you through the process of binding your Happymodel Mobula7 1S ELRS 75mm BNF Brushless Whoop (2.4GHz) drone to your Radio Pocket Master transmitter. Binding is the process of linking your drone and transmitter so they can communicate with each other.

Important Note: Unlike some receivers, the Mobula7 1S ELRS does not have a physical binding button. Binding is initiated through software using Betaflight Configurator and your Radio Pocket Master's ELRS Lua script.

Step-by-Step Binding Instructions:

  1. Connect Your Mobula7 to Betaflight:

    • Using a USB cable, plug your Happymodel Mobula7 drone into your computer.
    • Open the Betaflight Configurator application on your computer.
    • In Betaflight, click the "Connect" button to establish a connection with your drone.
  2. Enter Bind Mode via Betaflight:

    • Once connected, navigate to the "Receiver" tab in the Betaflight Configurator.
    • Locate and click the "Bind Receiver" button within this tab.
    • You should observe a red LED on your Mobula7's flight controller starting to blink rapidly. This indicates that the drone is now in bind mode and ready to connect to your transmitter.
  3. Initiate Bind Mode on Your Radio Pocket Master:

    • Turn on your Radio Pocket Master transmitter.
    • Ensure you have the ELRS.LUA script installed and running on your transmitter. It is recommended to use version 2 or higher of the ELRS.LUA script.
    • Access the ELRS LUA script menu on your Radio Pocket Master.
    • Scroll through the menu options until you find the "[Bind]" function. Select this option to initiate bind mode on your transmitter.
  4. Confirm Successful Binding:

    • After initiating bind mode on both the drone and the Radio Pocket Master, observe the LED on the Mobula7's flight controller.
    • The LED should initially turn to a solid red colour, and then change to a slow blinking pattern. This change in LED behaviour indicates that the binding process has been successful, and your drone and transmitter are now linked.
  5. Finalise Binding Process:

    • Disconnect the USB cable from your Mobula7 drone and then reconnect it. This step is important to finalise the binding and ensure the connection is properly established.

Troubleshooting Tips:

If you encounter issues during the binding process, please check the following:

  • ELRS Firmware Compatibility: Ensure that both your Mobula7 drone and your Radio Pocket Master are running compatible versions of the ExpressLRS (ELRS) firmware. Version 2.0 or higher is generally recommended for best compatibility and features.
  • Binding Phrase (if applicable): While not always required, some ELRS setups utilise a "binding phrase". If you have configured a binding phrase within your Radio Pocket Master's ELRS settings, you must ensure that the same binding phrase is also correctly entered in Betaflight. You can find the "Binding Phrase" setting in Betaflight within the "Receiver" tab.
