Scratched Screen on Your Radio Control Transmitter? Here’s How to Fix It!

Is Your Radio Control Transmitter Screen Scratched?

If you've recently received a Frsky, FLysky, Radiomaster, Jumper, or another popular radio control transmitter and noticed what looks like scratches on the screen, don’t worry! This is a common issue caused by a hidden screen protector that comes pre-installed to protect the display during shipping.

Why Does the Screen Appear Scratched?

Most radio control transmitters are equipped with a clear plastic screen protector to prevent damage during transit. Sometimes, this protector can shift or partially peel, making it seem like the screen is scratched. The scratches are usually just marks from the protector itself and not actual damage to the transmitter’s display.

How to Fix the Scratched Screen

1. Remove the Screen Protector

  • Gently Peel: Start at a corner and slowly peel off the plastic protector using your fingernail or a soft tool like a plastic card.
  • Avoid Scratching: Be cautious to prevent scratching the actual screen during removal.

2. Clean the Screen

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the screen clean after removing the protector. This will remove any residual adhesive or minor marks left behind.

Replace the Screen Protector (Optional)

If you prefer to keep your screen protected, you can replace the original screen protector with a new one. Many transmitters include a spare protector, but if yours didn’t, you can purchase a compatible screen protector from our store.

Steps to Replace:

  1. Purchase a Compatible Protector: Ensure it matches your transmitter model.
  2. Apply Carefully: Follow the installation instructions to avoid bubbles or misalignment.

Additional Tips

  • Handle with Care: Always handle your transmitter with clean hands and store it in a protective case to prevent future scratches.
  • Check for Spare Protectors: Some models come with a spare screen protector. If yours did, use it as a backup or replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Will removing the screen protector void my transmitter’s warranty?

A: No, removing the screen protector does not void your warranty. It’s simply an additional layer for protection during shipping.

Q: I still see scratches after removing the screen protector. What should I do?

A: If scratches remain, they are likely from the screen protector itself. These usually do not affect the functionality of your transmitter. However, if you experience display issues, please contact our Customer Support for assistance.

Q: Where can I find a replacement screen protector?

A: Replacement screen protectors are available on our Shop. Browse our selection or contact our support team for more information.  As if we do not stock the specific one you need, we may be able to order it in with our next batch of radios from our supplier.
