Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Download and install the BetaFPV Configurator - https://github.com/BETAFPV/BETAFPV_Configurator/releases/
(note, it will be easier to find the configurator if you check the "Create Desktop Icon" during setup, as it'll pop a link straight on your desktop)
  2. Once installed, right-click the Configurator and run it as an administrator.
(note; make sure everything else on the computer is closed - only the BetaFPV configurator should be open. It's also recommended to disconnect any unneeded devices from the computer)
  3. Turn off the radio make sure it is disconnected from the computer.
  4. Hold in the "Setup" button on the bottom of the radio (between the grips) - you may need a paperclip or similar to reach the button.
  5. Connect the radio to a USB port on your computer
  6. Open your windows start menu and search for "Device Manager" Open it, and accept the administrator prompt if it shows.
  7. Look for "Ports" in the Device Manager window.  It usually has a little USB connector icon next to it. Click "Ports" and it will expand the list to show connected ports. and locate "USB Serial Device (COM[X])".
  8. You should see a port called "USB Serial Device (COM[X])" where [X] can be any number. If you do not see this, stop here and send us a screenshot of this list so we can advise how to resolve this!  This could be caused by a diver issue, or faulty hardware on the radio, or your USB cable.
  9. If you do see "USB Serial Device", close device manager, and in BetaFPV configurator, click "Activate Configurator for Radio Transmitter" at the bottom of the Welcome tab (tabs are on the left side of the configurator, you're taken to the "Welcome" tab by default when you open the configurator.)
  10. Click the "Firmware Flasher" tab on the left. In the top right of the configurator, there are two dropdown boxes. The left one should say "ComX" again where X is a number. If it does not, and there are no COM ports to select from in the dropdown, stop here and let us know! If there are multiple COM ports, select the one for your radio. To find out which one is for your radio, you can disconnect it and the one which disappears will be the one for the radio. Just be sure to redo steps 3-6 if you do disconnect the radio!
  11. In the top left of the firmware flasher tab, there are two dropdowns - select "LiteRadio_3_SX1280" (this just means "The ELRS version of the LiteRadio 3"), and then in the second dropdown, select "2.0.1".
  12. Select "Load Firmware (online)" in the bottom right of the configurator, then "Flash Firmware". Do not interrupt this process until it is completed - just let it sit untouched until done. The loading bar will turn green when complete.
  13. Disconnect the radio and press the power button to turn it off.
  14. With the radio off, plug the USB connector back in. The LED will turn green.
  15. Click "Connect" in the top right hand corner of the configurator. You will be taken to a settings screen. At the top, it should show "Firmware version: 2.0.1". If it does, you're all done and can re-try binding, which should now work :)
  16. If you are unable to bind still, you can repeat this process but select firmware version 1.0.2 instead. One of the two should bind.
